Your vehicle's bumper covers conceal the structural bumper underneath. As the further forward and rear points on your vehicle, the bumper cover can take a range of abuse including scraping, pulling, and straight on collisions.
Quite often these impacts are minor and do not affect the underlying frame. However, the resulting scratches, scuffs, and cracks affect the aesthetics of your car or truck. Besides the annoyance of driving a scuffed up vehicle, the residual value will also be somewhat compromised. The good news is that your bumper cover is removable and can often be refinished without the need for replacement or more expensive repairs that might require an insurance claim.
